Any form of exercise will improve your fitness, and help you de-stress, but avoid extreme activities that you dislike. Strength training, such as lifting weights, should be performed twice a week. Try yoga or Pilates if you have no time to go to a gym. But whatever you do, make sure you enjoy it.

Physical activity helps you feel better by reducing tension, improving your mood, and improving your sleep. Moreover, regular exercise helps you manage your stress better, as it increases levels of neurochemicals in the brain.


Exercise stimulates the release of hormones like serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin, which are linked to positive emotions. These hormones also act as natural painkillers. For women, pain cramps can actually improve and go away all together by incorporating an exercise regimen on those days of the month. 



Regular exercise can reduce stress levels, especially if you do it regularly. Physical activity also relieves mild symptoms of depression and anxiety. Exercise helps you sleep better and can even improve your confidence. It's no wonder that many people enjoy exercise.
